Praise for this book
In her groundbreaking book Pivot, Kim explores themes of self-reflection, self-discovery, and the courage to act on your heart's deepest desires.
In this beautiful and poignant story, Kim not only shares her personal experience but also provides a helpful framework for women (and men!) who are contemplating important questions like "Who am I as a parent?", "Who do I want to be as a parent?", and "Can I really have it all?"
Kim's writing style is engaging and relatable and I was deeply moved by her ability to put her feelings into words in a way that caused me to reflect on my own desires for motherhood.
I appreciate the author’s passion and vulnerability, it especially resonates to women stuck in the career vs. fulltime mom dilemma. Her Christian values are explicitly woven through, which I enjoyed as someone who is also religious. I’m glad I got my own copy that I could mark up, I always love practical exercises and highlighting up all my favorite inspirational parts! Lots of opportunities for reflection.
This book is hands down a must for all moms! Whether you are transitioning to becoming a stay at home mom, questioning if you should or should not become a stay at home mom, or considering going back to work, this book gives sound advice and encouragement for where you are on your path. The book is a quick read, with practical advice that gives you tools to do what you can to be the best you and mom (working or not). This is not a typical self help book, but a personalized guide on your individual journey. I loved the personal stories the author shared, making the book intriguing and relatable. There are activities throughout the book that made me really stop and think about what was most important to me, my goals and how to achieve what I wanted. It felt like a guided journal that uplifted me and reminded me that whatever I choose to do, it will be best for our family even if it is different for someone else’s. I loved how the author has been a working mother climbing the ladder and a stay at home mom, who understands the joys and challenges each can have. Reading this book empowered me to trust my instinct, turn to the Lord and make the choices best for our situation. MUST READ!
